A leisurely
start to the morning and we were on our way by about 9am. Lots of cotton and sorghum along the
way.
Called into Dalby where we met up
with fellow travellers, Mark and Karen (there will be ten of us for the first
part of the trip and the intention is that we will all meet in Mitchell this
evening). Called into the Telstra shop to
sort out a problem with their billing for Jill’s phone. Why is that whenever you change something
with Telstra they “stuff” it up?!!! Gave
us a chance to have a muffin. Just as we
were leaving we met Arthur and Margaret also visiting the Telstra shop to sort
out a problem. The six of us met at
Chinchilla for lunch at a Chinese café.
Jill also checked out the Vinnie’s shop for any additional gear for the
Outrageous Orange Op Shop Occasion which is to be held sometime in the crossing
of the Anne Beadell Highway west
of Coober Pedy.

It was then on to
Mitchell (fuelled up at Roma on the way through – 147.9 cents/l) where we met
up with Richard and Jennie at the Major
Mitchell Caravan
Park ($24 for the night). Phil and Kay had been caught up in roadworks
and had decided to stay the night in Roma and catch up with us the next
day. Dinner was at the Court House Hotel
via the Caravan Park Courtesy Bus - flathead and a very nice salad.
