Breakfast on the campfire |
Bacon, eggs and mushrooms on the banks of the Parroo was our start to the day before heading off to Cunnamulla where we stopped for coffee (served by a young couple from Moltova) followed by a wonder around town and through the Information Centre.
Lunch was a bit further east at a 'water facility". Perhaps it was a watering point for a stock route - there were waterholes, tanks and troughs. As we drove east the country became a lot greener with very healthy wheat crops
We fuelled up at St George before heading to Nindigully. Nindigully is a pub with lots of free camping room around it. There were toilets and if you wanted a shower you could do this at the pub for a donation to the Flying Doctor Service. J and R took a room at the pub and Jill and I set the camper up down by the Moonie River. There had obviously been a lot of rain here recently as there was still a lot of mud about. It's a pretty area with the water damed up behind a weir. Quite a bit has been spent recently by the local council - toilets were new, roads gravelled and a concrete footpath constructed along the river.

Camp at Nindigully |
We had drinks and dinner at the pub - one of those iconic old Australian Pubs. The meal was very satisfactory.
