TRIP LIST

Monday 27th July 2015 - Thargomindah to Eulo

Breakfast this morning was in the Camp Kitchen after a walk along the Bulloo River and then back through the town.  It's a lovely walk, clean, well sign posted and lots of birds and kangaroos.  Even a few seats to rest on.

The Bulloo Walk

Downtown Thargomindah and some of  its historic buildings

We were in no hurry this morning so after filling up with fuel we all met at Thargomindah's new coffee shop - Coffee on Dowling.  All very civilised and good coffee.  It's part of the new Information Centre complex - also impressive.

Coffee at Dowling
We said goodbye to David who was whizzing home as his partner, Karen was unwell.  The rest of us headed towards Eulo at a more leisurely rate, with lunch at Lake Bindegolly.  It's a bit of a shame that to actually get near the lake it's quite a walk - time we didn't have today.

Arriving at Eulo we checked out the mud baths and made a time to return later in the day.  We then headed back to the Paroo River just west of town to set up camp.  After a bit of a wander around town - coffee, the leather shop and the Opal shop we headed back for our mud bath.

Downtown Eulo - You even get Kangaroos in town
We had the sunset room - 4 baths filled with hot water and mud (clay) enclosed with corrugated iron walls, a brush gate and half a plastic water tank which had a shower in it.  The side facing the sunset was glass and to keep us all warm there was a grate with a fire burning in it.  It was all very relaxing - "absolute heaven", Jill says.  We were even provided with a glass of wine and nibbles each.  After soaking for 30 minutes we were instructed to get out and slather ourselves with mud.  After it had dried you get back into the tub for another 15 minutes.  This was all finished off with a shower and moisturising with date moisturiser.  All this for $65 each.

The Artesian Mud Baths - Eulo
After our mud bath we 'floated' off to the pub for dinner.  Here we chatted to a couple who once lived at Crabbes Creek and still have rellies in Mullum  (well he chatted - we mostly listened).  They came from Sydney and recommended a little place called Nindigully, 44kms SE of St George.  Sounded good for a stop for tomorrow.

Dinner was good and then it was back to camp and bed.
