TRIP LIST

Friday 6th July. Plenty Highway to East of Cawnpore Lookout (Kennedy Development Road)

First stop this morning was at the Northern Territory Border - a photo opportunity and a stretch of the legs.  It's amazing how barren the countryside is on the Queensland side of the border.  Flat as and hardly a tree to be seen.  One tree on the side of the road had a huge eagle's nest in it.  Lots of bones around its base and some rabbit fur.  As we got closer to Boulia we hit the bitumen.  Nice to be back on a hard surface.

In Boulia we said bye to Margaret and Arthur who were on a deadline to get home while we went searching for someone to do a tyre repair.  Even though Bob was very busy he soon had us fixed up and we were back on the road towards Winton (The Kennedy Development Road).

Came through a very interesting hilly area near the Cawnpore Lookout.  The sun was setting and the colours were amazing.  You would think we were in one of those Cowboy and Indian movies in Arizona.  As we were camping just down the road at a roadside stop we decided to come back to the lookout tomorrow for a better look.

There were are few others already at the rest stop so we drove along the fenceline a little for a nice quiet spot.
