Headed west fairly early. Checked out Gravesend School as we drove through the village (Alex's first appointment in 1968, joined by Jill in 1969). Was a school day so we didn't call in but the school looks cared for with a lovely-looking community garden with lots of raised beds.
Met Jill's sister Wendy and friend Dimity in Narrabri at Coogle Cafe & Garden. Lovely to see them and a nice spot for lunch outside in the garden. They're travelling north.
Quite a lot of cotton after Narrabri (some harvested with lots of bales lined up and some yet to be harvested) and we're in the big truck area - lots of B-doubles.
Arrived at Warrumbungles and found Wambelong Camping Area - a nice open area next to the creek. Setting up camp with the kangaroos was nice.
Joined our neighbours around their campsite after dinner.
