TRIP LIST

Monday 16 May 2022 - Uralla to Ben Lomond

Jill woke with a headache so we were up fairly early for a walk around the showground.  Lots of wood ducks around and in a large dead tree.  There were lots of hollows in the tree so perhaps they were nesting there.

Arthur, Margaret, Terry and Dorothy were packed up early and headed south while we had a leisurely start with toast and coffee.

Pretty impressed with the showground.  Plenty of room and even a dump point which we made use of before heading north.

Called into Guyra for lunch at a lovely little cafe called Juneil's (came up No 1 on google for "best coffee in Guyra" and yes it was good.  Jill also bought an essential oil blend called Breathe Easy (lemon, eucalyptus, rosemary and Tea tree) for the little diffuser we have in the van.  Yummy toasted wraps for lunch.

For camp tonight we decided to head off the highway (a little) to the Ben Lomond Recreation Ground.  We had it to ourselves and the sun came out as we were setting up camp.

Ben Lomond is a tiny village with nothing much other than a historical Railway Station.  Even what was the general store has closed down.  There is signage at the rec grounds outlining various walks which we found valuable and made use of.  Checked out the Railway station and a local echidna and a little stroll around town which the many barking dogs probably didn't approve of.

Lovely sunset tonight.
