TRIP LIST

Monday 21st September, At Sea

Today we have been at sea all day. A bit rough this morning. Calmed down in the afternoon and a bit rough again tonight. Should become calmer again as we reach Chatham Strait.

Breakfast this morning was wonderful.  Practically anything you ask for and the eggs or omelettes are cooked while you wait. Had soy milk and gluten-free pastries for Jill.

After breakfast we went to listen to Emily, an Eskimo women, talk about the ports we would be calling into - quite informative. During the day we went to various other talks on shopping, animals of Alaska, blogging etc.

Lunch was comprehensive – Jill and I had Asian and it was very nice. (sweets too). No one could complain about the food. Plenty of it and very nice.

Formal attire required tonight for dinner. We knew we carried it all this way for something. Dinner was very nice. I had the salmon as one of the 4 courses.

After dinner, there was a welcome by the captain and a show concentrating on 50s and 60s songs. They obviously know their audience and cater to them. Very well performed, excellent choreography and lots of energy.  Jill and I then went to the piano bar for a while with the intention that we would then go up to the ‘Crow’s nest’ to have a dance or two (seeing we were all dressed up).  Unfortunately, they allow smoking up there so we didn’t stay.

Watches go back an hour tonight as we enter Alaskan waters at around 2am in the morning.
