TRIP LIST

Saturday 23rd July 2011 – Tyndrum to Coldbeck

Pine Trees Leisure Park was a lovely little park – and free wifi.

Skirted around Glasgow and then on to Irvine (on the coast).  Stopped in town for a coffee and then to the beach to see a huge brick dragon on a hill overlooking the water.  Jill had purchased a book for Aylee written by Scottish author D S Nelson, who was inspired by the dragon when she wrote the book.  Took pictures obviously.

Then drove all over the place on a diversion as the road we were planning to take was closed for maintenance.  Interesting over here that they just close a road if they want to do some repairs.  Guess it’s because there are so many options of roads to take.

topped at the information centre in Greta (where the English used to come across the border to get married – you can get married younger in Scotland) to get some information on the Lake District.  Back on the Motorway to Carlisle and then west to stay the night at Caldbeck on a farm.  Only 3 other vans here tonight.  Walked into town for a meal at the pub.  Very nice.
