We had
planned to drive on to Silent Grove Camping area and Bell Gorge on the Gibb River Road
today. There was quite a bit of rain
overnight and initially we had to wait for the ranger to find out if the roads
were open. We had already tossed up
whether to move on or wait another day to let things dry out a little. Started the car up to put a bit of charge in
the battery. Once the battery drops to
12.4v the fridge has trouble starting.
Once going it appears ok. Ranger
came to tell us that the roads were open with care so we started packing up
when Jill stood up the wrong way and put her back out. That changed our mind for the day. Jill was off to bed with a hot water bottle,
anti-inflammatory cream and arnica and we stay put for another day.
We had a few showers during the day but it looks like the rain might be leaving (hopefully). Lot ’s of reading, watching the birds, the solar panels and the passing parade.
Later in the afternoon Jill was feeling a bit better so we did the Savannah walk (about a kilometre to the external rock wall of the gorge and back. It is pretty country.
Rain has eased off (an occasional shower) so it should be fine to move on tomorrow.
