TRIP LIST

Wednesday 29th July 2015 - Nindigully to Texas

After a walk along the river and breakfast we were on the road to Goondiwindi.  We found a coffee shop on the main street and after coffee and cake had a bit of a wander around town before heading to the park on the bank of the Macintyre River for lunch.

Morning tea and then lunch at Goondiwindi
While having lunch we were amazed to see so many pelicans on the river.  They even put on a performance of synchronised swimming for us.  Quite amazing.

From Goondiwindi we headed along the border to Texas where we had all booked into the Yellow Rose Guest House for the night.  A bit of a splurge on our last night.  The guest house was a little gem.  Recently purchased by a a couple who had come in off the land - very friendly.  Well appointed, with a wood fire in the lounge room and heating in our ensuite bedroom.  My only criticism was that the rooms were pretty small.  Our bed was up against the wall so Jill had to climb over me to get in and out.  That didn't distract from the nice vibe of the place however.

Dinner tonight was at the pub - a nice warm atmosphere and good food.  Texas is a nice town.  Clean and tidy and there's obviously a bit of a community spirit.
