On the road again today. Called into Eagle Bluff again with the hope of seeing some sea life from the cliff face boardwalk. Even less today then there was a few days ago. Some large schools of fish but nothing else.
It was quite a drive to Tamala Station which is a little way off the main road to Steep Point (Useless Loop Road). We were on gravel as soon as we left the Shark Bay Road but quite good gravel at this stage. At Tamala Station we booked our two nights at Shell Beach ($48 for the 2 nights). Tamala has quite a few camping spots on the station and Shell Beach is on the eastern shore of one of the peninsulas stretched out into Shark Bay (12.5 km west along the road from Tamala and then another 6.5 km north on a Station Track through 2 locked gates). There were already 5 caravans on the beach when we arrived but there was plenty of room and we drove right up the end of the beach where we had the spot all to ourselves. Walked up to a cairn on a point at one end of the beach. Lit a fire and sat out and enjoyed the stars. Just so many.
