Friday 4 December 2020 - Racecourse Beach to Station Creek

Up early for a walk on the beach this morning.  Rain has gone and it's a much clearer day.

After breakfast and pack up we headed back towards the highway but instead of straight back to Kempsey, headed north and drove along the eastern side of the Macleay River as far as Jerseyville before ducking west through Clybucca and eventually meeting up with the new highway again.

We filled up with fuel along the way and arrived at Station Creek in time for a late lunch.  This was our first time at Station Creek.  We had stayed next door at Pebbly Beach a couple of times but to get to that camping spot you needed to drive along the beach a while and cross Station Creek at low tide.  Not today!!  Station Creek Campsite is quite a way off the highway from near Corindi Beach.  We guessed the fairly ordinary gravel road in was probably the reason that there were not so many campers there.  We managed to find a pleasant spot large enough for our two vans.

What a delightful swimming spot it is.  Beautiful clear water and very refreshing and the bonus was the reflections in the water at sunset.
